FOCAL NEURODERMATITIS
03 May 2025, Saturday
Focal neurodermatitis is a skin condition with both neurological and allergic components. It is a chronic disease characterized by periods of exacerbation and remission. It affects about 1.5% of the population and is more common in women than in men.
The exact mechanism of фocal neurodermatitis development is not fully understood, but genetic predisposition, allergic, and neurological reactions play a significant role.
Clinically, it presents with itching and round patches on the skin that differ from healthy skin. These areas are covered with small itchy nodules and have a distinct shiny appearance. The skin texture in the affected areas is more pronounced compared to healthy skin.
Focal neurodermatitis тreatment is multi-component
- Leading a healthy lifestyle
- Avoiding rough or irritating clothing
- Using antihistamines to relieve itching
- Applying topical glucocorticosteroids, moisturizers, and other supportive treatments
