Sonography (ultrasound examination) of the urinary tract and kidneys in Armenia

Organs examined: An ultrasound examination of the urinary tract or kidneys includes a thorough examination of the kidneys, adrenal glands, bladder, prostate, seminal vesicles, and inguinal lymph nodes The examination is performed by an experienced ultrasound specialist (radiologist) using modern and high-quality expert equipment.

Duration. The examination takes 20-40 minutes. Patients must register in advance to receive the service without waiting.

Sonography report submission form. You can receive the results and images of the examination both in paper and electronic form in Armenian or Russian.

Sonography of the urinary tract and kidneys costs 8,000 AMD at VitaMed MC (Yerevan, Charentsavan, Stepanavan).

Indications for urinary tract and kidneys ultrasound

Indications for the study include, but are not limited to, the following:

dysuric phenomena;
blood in the urine;
pain in the epigastric region;
pain in the right or left side of the back.

Preparation for ultrasound

For a planned examination, it is advisable to be hungry or to come to the examination four hours after eating and with a full bladder. In an unplanned case, for example, in case of acute abdominal or "belly" pain, pelvic, back, groin areas, you can come in any condition and the sonography will be performed without a queue, with as little waiting as possible.
