24-hour ambulatory blood pressure monitoring is a type of test that measures blood pressure over a 24-hour period, regardless of whether the patient is awake or asleep.
Most 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure monitors measure blood pressure every 15-30 minutes during the day and every 60 minutes at night.
One of the advantages of the test is that it measures blood pressure during daily activity.
