PSORIASIS

Psoriasis is a chronic autoimmune disease characterized by the formation of plaques covered with silvery-white scales on various areas of the skin.

Genetic predisposition, along with various external and internal factors, such as stress, plays a significant role in the development of the disease.

Mild forms manifest as localized scaly erythematous plaques on the elbows, knees, or scalp, while severe forms affect larger areas of the skin.

The disease can cause both physical and psychological discomfort for the patient.

Psoriasis treatments include:

  • Topical corticosteroids
  • Systemic treatment with immunosuppressive drugs from various groups
  • Keratolytics
  • Vitamin D derivatives
