Transrectal sonography

Transrectal sonography for men includes the prostate, distal rectum, bladder, and adjacent adipose tissue. The examination is performed by an experienced radiologist - ultrasound specialist, using modern and high-quality expert equipment.

Transrectal ultrasound duration. Examination takes about 15-20 minutes. To receive the service without waiting, patients need to sign up in advance․

Sonography report submission form. You can receive the results and images of the examination both in paper and electronic form in Armenian or Russian.

Preparation for sonography. There are no special prerequisites for the examination, but in an unplanned case, for example, in the case of acute pain in the breast area, you can come in urgently, and the sonography will be performed without a queue, with as little waiting as possible.

Indications for transrectal sonography

Indications for the study include, but are not limited to, the following:

High PSA-prostate specific antigen count
Large prostate volume
Blood in the urine
Blood in the stool
Pain or discomfort during urination
In some cases of male infertility

Preparation for transrectal ultrasound

There are no preparation requirements for transrectal sonography, but it is advisable for patients to have an empty bladder. If there are any worrisome symptoms (such as pain or bleeding), you can come in any condition and the sonography will be performed without a queue, with as little waiting as possible.
