Electroneuromyography (ENMG) 16 May 2026, Saturday,
In an X-ray examination - of the paranasal sinuses, the visible structures include the maxillary sinuses, the frontal sinus, the sphenoid and ethmoid bone sinuses, the mastoid air cells of the temporal bone, as well as other bony structures of the skull, for example, the lower jaw (mandible), upper jaw (maxilla), the walls of the orbit, the main parts of the parietal and temporal bones. In a lateral projection, it is also possible to assess the patency of the nasopharynx, the sella turcica, the nasal bones, and other anatomical structures. In standard situations, the paranasal sinuses are examined in two projections: Waters (occipitomental) and Caldwell (occipitofrontal), and in some cases, a lateral projection is also used.
The examination can detect diseases such as sinusitis (maxillary sinusitis, frontitis, ethmoiditis, sphenoiditis), fractures of the orbit and other skull bones, deviation of the bony part of the nasal septum, formations in the sella turcica (e.g., pituitary adenoma), and other diseases and conditions.
Effective Radiation Dose - The X-ray examination of the paranasal sinuses has a low radiation effect on the patient, which, if converted to numbers, is 0.2 mSv (millisievert). (Reference: Mettler FA, et al: Effective Doses in Radiology and Diagnostic Nuclear Medicine: A Catalog, Radiology 2008 248:254-263)
Paranasal Sinus X-Ray Duration - The examination lasts 3-5 minutes; no prior appointment is necessary.
Method of Providing the X-Ray Conclusion - You can receive the examination results and images in both paper and electronic formats, in Armenian or Russian languages.
Cost of Paranasal Sinus X-Ray Examination - 8000 AMD, which is performed in accordance with international standards and is the most affordable in the city of Yerevan.
Indications for Paranasal Sinus X-Ray Examination - Pain in the forehead and orbital regions, intensification of pain when bending the head forward, persistent cough, fever, purulent or thick discharge from the nose.
Preparation for the X-Ray Examination - No preparation is needed for paranasal sinus radiography. One should only avoid wearing jewelry in the head area, such as earrings, etc.
