Joint X-Ray examination

Organs examined: All joints, including the knee, shoulder, elbow, wrist, ankle, hip joints, as well as all the small joints. With this examination, the following conditions can be diagnosed: 

• benign and malignant bone tumors
• deforming osteoarthritis
• rheumatic joint disorders
• calcification of surrounding soft tissue
• the position of prosthetics in prosthetic joints
• developmental dysplasia of the hip in newborns (hip dislocation).
   

Effective radiation dose. A joint X-ray examination exposes the patient to a low level of radiation – approximately 0.7 mSv (millisieverts).

Duration. The examination takes 5–10 minutes. There's no need for prior registration.

Delivery of X-ray results. The results and images of the examination can be provided in print or through e-mail, in Armenian or Russian.

Preparation. No special preparation is necessary. You only need to wear clothing that allows easy access to the relevant body area.

Indications for joint X-ray examination:

• Pain, swelling, bruising, or deformity in any joint
• Metabolic or rheumatic diseases
• Joint injuries accompanied by pain, swelling, or deformity
• Monitoring of fracture healing
• Preoperative and postoperative evaluation, etc.
   

Pricing

The cost of joint x-ray is 6,000–10,000 AMD in VitaMed Medical Center (Yerevan, Stepanavan, Charentsavan), depending on the joint and projections. The examination is performed in accordance with international standards using a digital X-ray machine. This makes the examination the most affordable one you can find in Yerevan.
